I've got some great friends who, I'm still not sure how, talked me into joining them on a pretty intese hike in South Lake Tahoe. Mt. Tallac is 9700 ft. above sea level and, from the summit, one of the most beautiful views I've ever seen. I read that, overall, the route we took is 6 miles in distance with an elevation gain of 3,200 ft., but I have to give it to these girls, they were very patient and encouraging. The view and satisfaction of reaching the summit made it all well worth with, though I found myself repeating the mantra I have for my own kids, "You can do hard things!" Several times I felt like the little blue engine, "I think I can, I think I can..." But we did it, in just over 4 hours, I believe. So here are a few pictures from our resident photographer, Debby. Thanks again, girls!

Awesome Amber! Congrats! I love Lake Tahoe sooo much and miss it terribly here in the desert!
What a great idea! That sounds like quite the hike. I love the slide show you have up on the side.
